The Beachport ramp once again has been used extensively over the summer period after the alterations during the off season. The pontoon area has been quite good for depth and any swell has been negated allowing for easier launch and retrieval, however there is a problem at the entrance to the ramp channel as it does silt up quite quickly requiring dredging to keep a channel clear with enough depth for all craft. Hopefully this can be rectified in the near future with some small modifications.
Plans for the sealing and design of the boat trailer park area have been released by council and hopefully these works will commence over the off season.
Maybe with a bit of luck we will have an all year boat ramp facility so that tuna can be accessed when they arrive.
